CAMH The Family Resource Centre:

It offers a safe, welcoming space, with a child-friendly play area. Family members will also find a wide range of printed educational materials on mental illness, including addictions, and a lending library of recommended resources and information on community support. For those who need it, computer, printer and telephone services are available. And of course, trained dedicated volunteers who can answer your questions and consult with you are always available. The Family Resource Centre is located in room 1314 on the ground floor of the Bell Gateway Building at 100 Stokes Street on the Queen Street site. The hours are from 9:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m., Monday to Friday.

 

Family Educational Series:

This information group for families and friends covers topics like navigating the health care system, communication, strategies, problem and crisis management, and psychoeducation on mood disorders.

Runs winter, spring, and fall; call for schedule information.

Family Recovery Support

Individual, family and group support to family members and friends who are concerned about a loved one aged 16 and over who is dealing with a complex mental health issue. To enroll please call 416-539-9449 ext. 221.

 

Early Psychosis Intervention Family Support

Individual, family and group support for family and friends of people ages 14-34 who are experiencing the first episode of psychosis. Early Psychosis Intervention support is offered at both our West and Scarborough locations. Tamil speaking services and programming are offered in Scarborough. To enroll please call 416-539-9449 ext. 221.

 

St. Joseph’s Health Centre Family Navigation Support

Hospital navigation, support and group programming for families of individuals aged 16 and over who come into contact with mental health services at St. Joseph’s Health Centre (emergency department, crisis services, inpatient and outpatient). To enroll please call 416-539-9449 ext. 225.

 

Dialectical Behaviour Therapy (DBT) Informed Family Support

Individual, family and group support for family & friends supporting someone aged 16 and over with a diagnosis of Borderline Personality Disorder or other emotion dysregulation concerns (e.g. ongoing suicidal ideation or attempts, self-harming behaviours, concurrent substance misuse). FAME Family and Caregiver Support Services

Reconnect’s FAME Family and Caregiver Support Services offer a range of supports to family members and caregivers who have a loved one experiencing a mental health concern. Services include drop-in support groups, one-on-one counselling, and specialized programming for children and youth.

Early Intervention Program- MDAO offers counselling and support for families of young people (aged 14 to 35) who are living with a mood disorder and/or psychosis, as well as those that are concerned about their loved one but do not yet have a diagnosis.
